چکیده

As one of the ways to achieve carbon neutralization, shrub biomass plays an important role for natural resource management decision making in arid regions. To investigate dynamic variations Caragana korshinskii, a typical found desert area Ningxia, northwest China, we combined nonlinear simultaneous (NLS) equation system with theoretical growth (TG) and allometric (AG) equations. On basis large survey dataset analytical data stems, four methods (NOLS, NSUR, 2SLS, 3SLS) NLS equations were TG AG A model was subsequently established predict AGB C. korshinskii. The absolute mean residual (AMR), root error (RMSE), adjusted determination coefficient (adj-R2) used evaluate performance Results revealed that NSUR method had better than other independent BD H AGB. Additionally, exhibited extremely significant differences (p < 0.0001) when compared without heteroscedasticity on likelihood ratio (LR) test, which power function (PF) as variance function. efficient predicting by combining could estimate storage shrubs accurately, stand productivity sequestration capacity.

Responses of Caragana korshinskii to different aboveground shoot removal: combining defence and tolerance strategies.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS It is generally assumed that plants respond to natural enemies by either allocating resources to resistance traits or compensating for damage. This study evaluated how different methods of artificial shoot removal influence two alternative strategies (i.e. tolerance and defence) of Caragana korshinskii in the semi-arid area of China. METHODS Zero per cent (control), 30% (3...

Limits to the height growth of Caragana korshinskii resprouts.

Predawn leaf water potential (LWP), the LWP between 09:00 and 10:30 h (termed minimum LWP), stem xylem hydraulic conductivity, foliar nitrogen, leaf gas exchange and leaf traits were measured on the same days in adults and 1-year-old to 7-year-old resprouts that had regrown after removing all the aboveground shoots. Height growth and accumulation of aboveground biomass quickly decreased with re...

Allometric Equations for Aboveground and Belowground Biomass Estimations in an Evergreen Forest in Vietnam

Allometric regression models are widely used to estimate tropical forest biomass, but balancing model accuracy with efficiency of implementation remains a major challenge. In addition, while numerous models exist for aboveground mass, very few exist for roots. We developed allometric equations for aboveground biomass (AGB) and root biomass (RB) based on 300 (of 45 species) and 40 (of 25 species...

Allometric Models Based on Bayesian Frameworks Give Better Estimates of Aboveground Biomass in the Miombo Woodlands

The miombo woodland is the most extensive dry forest in the world, with the potential to store substantial amounts of biomass carbon. Efforts to obtain accurate estimates of carbon stocks in the miombo woodlands are limited by a general lack of biomass estimation models (BEMs). This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of most commonly employed allometric models for estimating aboveground bioma...

Allometric equations for determining volume and biomass of Acer monspessulanum L. subsp. cinerascens multi-stemmed trees

Due to the importance of Acer monspessulanum in Iranian mountain forests, a study was carried out to reliably estimate its woody biomass and growing volume via allometric equations. Four transects, five trees in each were chosen randomly. The characteristics of standing trees including: diameter at root collar, height, number of stems and crown width were measured, then trees were finally cut d...
